Food Tour of Lake Worth & Lantana, Florida premiered on April 14, 2012. Check out the Photos on Facebook!

Thirteen eateries, food venues, cultural sites and art galleries were experienced on Saturday, April 14, 2012 for the launch of the Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana, Florida. Popular galleries visited were the Lake Worth Art League Gallery and the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery which are both located in the LULA Arts District of Downtown Lake Worth, Florida.

The Juice Bar in the LULA Arts District of Downtown Lake Worth was visited for the premiere Taste History Culinary Tour of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana, Florida.  Organic fruit Smoothies were sampled. The origin of Smoothies can be traced to the Country of Brazil.  Around the 1930s pureed fruit drinks were served in health food stores on the West Coast USA.  The 1940s Waring-brand electric blender increased popularity in the Smoothies.

Due to the exceeding popularity of the Taste History Culinary Tours, the first six-months sold-out. To meet the demand for the culinary tours, more dates have been added with the tours being expanded to consist of food samplings in historic Lake Worth including Lantana in Palm Beach County. Therefore, the tours are held at 11am year-round on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of each month, plus private group tours are offered. The Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida is offered on the third and fourth Saturdays of each month. And, Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana is held on the second Saturday of each month, year-round, effective April 14th. The Taste History Culinary Tours includes eateries, markets and urban farms in historic Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth and Lantana with some tours also visiting the Macy’s Home Store Department in Boynton Beach for cuisine demos and tastings plus exclusive discounts at Macy’s specifically for the guests on the Taste History Culinary Tour

The Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic are the first food tours of its style in Palm Beach County and are conducted by the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) which is a non-profit 501c3 organization. These food tours are 4-hours and are a combination of bus riding and 4 to 6 blocks of walking tour with visits to at least 3 restaurants for cuisine tastings.

The purpose of the Taste History Culinary Tours is to infuse food history, food culture, foodways and food tastings into facts about the historic districts and pioneer people of Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, & Lantana, Florida (Palm Beach County) along with highlighting historic buildings and showcasing the influence of the agriculture industry,” said Lori J. Durante, Executive Tour Director for the Taste History Culinary Tours and founder/chief curator of the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History. Durante developed this new food history tour program. Durante continued: “Taste History provides a cultural experience for the palate and mind.”
