A culinary adventure was hosted for 20 hotel concierges and destination management professionals from Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties on Monday, October 28, 2013. This sold-out Taste History Culinary Tour traveled to Delray Beach and Boynton Beach for cuisines, history and art.
The hotel concierges and destination management professionals were from the Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach Resort & Spa; The Ocean Club of Deerfield Beach; The Omphoy Ocean Resort Palm Beach; AlliedPRA, Ancomp; and Hello-Florida.

The Taste History Tour for the hotel concierges and destination management professionals featured international cuisines, historic districts, notable buildings and art works. The tour guests met local chefs and restaurant owners, and local artists. The hotel concierges and destination management professionals journeyed to Dee Dee's Conch & Rib Shack; Sefa Mediterranean Grill; Scuola Vecchia Pizza e Vino; Le Macaron French Pastries Shop; historic NW 5th Avenue; the Pineapple Grove Arts District; the historic Boynton Woman's Club; Hurricane Alley; The Little House, Boynton's Avenue of the Arts and the Boynton Beach Arts District (BBAD). The tour also featured Florida's 500th anniversary, Viva Florida.
The tour was prompted by a welcome from Macy's General Manager/Vice President David Green that was followed by gifts of tasty truffles presented by Jennifer Baldwin of the Macy's culinary division. And, Macy's also created custom gift bags for each of the tour guests.
Here's what the hotel concierges and destination management professionals said about their culinary excursion: "Very well rounded"; "I enjoyed all the places because I have never been there before - it was a valuable experience," and "Liked the layout, timing, diversity of things shown."

- To maintain an element of surprise, each tour is different and never an exact duplication of any previous tour hosted
- Private group tours are also available during the weekday
- Pre-payment is required. Fees are inclusive
- Tour takes place Rain or Shine.
- Dietary Restrictions Cannot be Accommodated
The non-profit Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Palm Beach County includes family-owned and locally-operated eateries, markets and urban farms in historic Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth and Lantana plus exclusive discounts at Macy’s are provided specifically for the guests on the Taste History Culinary Tour. The Taste History Culinary Tours are the first food tours of its style in Palm Beach County and are conducted by the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) which is a non-profit 501c3 organization. These food tours include a live guide and are at least 4-hours with a combination of bus riding and 4 to 6 blocks of walking tour with visits to at least 3 to 4 restaurants/eateries/cultural sites for cuisine tastings along with alternating trips to historic districts, buildings and art galleries. There are now more 30 restaurant/food partners for the culinary tour that are visited on a rotating alternate schedule which means different eateries are visited each tour. Private group tours are also available.
The culinary tours are small-format with the average capacity for the tours being 15 to 20 people. The tour cannot accommodate dietary restrictions and dietary substitutions cannot be provided.
Effective April 1, 2013, $40 per person is the new rate for the general public tours. Due to the increase in fees that are charged to our organization for the tour bus rental and insurance; an increase in our tour fees is necessary. Pre-paid reservations that have been made prior to that date will not be affected. The Taste History Culinary Tours program is operated by a non-profit 501c3 organization. Special rates apply for Private Group Tours.
