Food, culture and history in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach on tour hosted for Boca Grove Country Club

An Autumn season Taste History Culinary Tour was hosted for members of the Boca Grove Country Club

(Right) Dee Dee of Dee Dee's Conch & Rib Shack in Delray Beach welcomed the Boca Grove Country Club and she gave an informative talk about the origins of her eatery which began in a roadside tent and grew to the current sit-down eatery.
The tour was a cultural day excursion of food, history and art in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach with trips to Dee Dee's Conch & Rib Shack, the Organic Tea Bar at Du20 Holistic Oasis, Sefa Mediterranean Grill, Scuola Vecchia Pizza e Vino, Le Macaron French Pastries Shop, the Colony Hotel & Cabana Club, Hurricane Alley Raw Bar & Restaurant and the Denny Reed Art Gallery in the Boynton Beach Art District.

The tour narration infused the history of the State of Florida, Palm Beach County, Delray Beach and Boynton while the tour guests savored the international cuisines.  Year 2013 marks the 500th anniversary of the State of Florida which punctuates the arrival of Spaniard explorer Juan Ponce de Leon.  Upon Ponce de Leon's arrival on the shores of Florida near the Easter holiday, Native American tribes were already inhabiting the land who included the Ais, Appalachee, Calusa, Jaega, Tekesta and Timacua.
