Photos of new Food Tour of Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida

On October 15, 2011, the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) launched its new food-centric history tour program.  The Taste History™ Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida traveled by both bus and foot to historic districts, neighborhoods and buildings.  The sold-out premiere tour provided a historical experience with tasteful cuisine with trips to Downtown Delray Beach, the Pineapple Grove Arts District, West Settlers and Downtown Boynton Beach, Florida.

The tour inaugurated with a colorful epicurean experience of Soul Food, Seafood, Mediterranean Cuisine and Farm-to-Table Food.

Effective 2015, $45 to $60 per person is the new rate for the general public tours. Due to the increase in fees that are charged to our organization for the tour bus rental and insurance; an increase in our tour fees is necessary. Pre-paid reservations that have been made prior to that date will not be affected. The Taste History Culinary Tours program is operated by a non-profit 501c3 organization.  Special rates apply for Private Group Tours.

The Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) will be ushering in Delray's Centennial with a new tour program that has a gastronomic flair.  The Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, Florida (Palm Beach County) will premiere on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11am.  Known for its popular monthly Narrated Bus Tours of Historic Delray Beach which has hosted more than 7,000 passengers since its inception in year 2004, MLFH will be delighting the minds and palate with this new culinary tour program. 

  • Guests on the tour will have an epicurean experience From French Cuisine to Soul FoodThere's History in Every Bite™!


    This new gastronomic history tour program is the first of its kind in Palm Beach County, Florida!  The culinary tours are in addition to the


    Here are some Brief Facts about the Culinary Tours:
    This tour program is three to four hours and includes a combination of narrated history bus tour and walking tour.


  • Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida are held on the third and fourth Saturdays of each month, year-round, beginning October 15, 2011 at 11am.


  • The Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach travels by both bus and foot to restaurants located in historic areas and/or buildings.


  • MLFH has nearly 30 restaurant partners. At least three to four restaurants are visited per tour where sample tastings are provided of that restaurant’s cuisine and the tour guests will learn food history and the historic significance of the building or location of the restaurant. These restaurant visits will be alternated and visited on a rotating schedule each third Saturday of the month. The dining establishments include mom-and-pop restaurants, Italian restaurants, Seafood restaurants, Mediterranean Cafes and American cuisine restaurants.
  • History information about historic neighborhoods, districts and buildings is narrated during the tour.


  • Learn enlightening history about the State of Florida, Palm Beach County, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach


  • Tour starts by bus at Macy's at Boynton Beach Mall.  Passengers are then transported by bus followed by a walking component.  History information is narrated for the entire duration of the tour.  The walking components ranges from 3 to 6 blocks per tour.

  • Tour takes place rain or shine
