Hotel Concierges hosted on Epicurean Tour of Lake Worth and Lantana

One of the highlights in year 2012 was the Taste History Culinary Tour of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana (Palm Beach County, Florida) that was hosted for 21 international hotel and resort concierges and managers from Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties.  They represented some of the world's leading hotels. This tour program was held in partnership with the Tourism Department of Macy's which is also a sponsor of the non-profit program.

The epicurean excursion integrated food tastings at restaurants in Downtown Lake Worth and Downtown Lantana with the multi-cultural history of the area along with visits to art galleries in the LULA Arts District in Lake Worth.

The October 29, 2012 cuisine tour was a symphony of flavors for the concierges that traveled to Sabal Palm House Bed & Breakast for homemade scones and tea; The Mango Inn Bed & Breakfast for mango-infused French toast; South Shores Tavern for mushroom bruschetta; the Java Juice Bar for organic fruit smoothies and sandwich wraps; Brogues Down Under for custom-made Pavlova Pie and sausage rolls; the Tortilleria Gallo de Oro for tortillas; George's Meat Market for beef stroganoff; and Le Petit Pain for quiche and chocolate beignets.

The Lake Worth art galleries showcased on the tour were the Lake Worth Art League Gallery, the Webber Galleries; and the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery which hosted an art-making demo by local wood-carving artist Teri Salomoni; and then they met local basket weaving artist Mary Catello.

The concierges were thoroughly introduced to the wonderful attributes of Palm Beach County, Lake Worth and Lantana.

Both The Palm Beach Post and Palm Beach Daily News published editorials about the concierge cuisine tour of Lake Worth and Lantana.  The Palm Beach Post wrote "Hotel concierges get tour of best of Lake Worth, Lantana."

Here's what Chef concierge Kay Cremeens said on The Palm Beach Daily News Blog:
BRAVO! I was one of the lucky ones to experience Lori’s amazing tour. She herself is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to Florida history and origins of food names. I would highly recommend it to friends, family and of course my guests of the Harbor Beach Marriott. From the quaint little guest houses to the family run restaurants, everyone was warm and welcoming. All the foods we tasted were wonderful. I especially enjoyed the local artist’s galleries where I purchased a few things and helped the local economy a bit. GO…you will love it! October 31st, 2012 at 6:44 pm
