A dozen people (including tourists from the Country of China) were hosted on the August 11, 2012 Taste History Culinary Tour of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana. A new restaurant partner, South Shores Tavern, premiered on the tasting tour. South Shores Tavern is located in the heart of the LULA Arts District in downtown Lake Worth, Florida. The Taste History tour guests were among the first to try cuisines on the new menu at South Shores with samplings of the Mushroom Brushetta. The tavern's version of bruschetta is updated from the original cuisine that began in Tuscany, Italy. Bruschetta is a Tuscan appetizer that dates far back to the 15th century in Central Italy. The Italian appetizer is made by toasting bread that is rubbed with garlic and olive oil then topped with tomatoes. South Shores gave bruschetta a whole new delicious edge by using pita bread for the toast and topping it with garlic, basil pesto, goat cheese, tomatoes and Portobello mushrooms. The culinary tour guests savored South Shores Tavern's Mushroom Brushetta.
Four other eateries were also visited - Mother Earth Coffee & Gifts, The Juice Bar, the Tortilleria Gallo De Oro and George's Meat Market along with gallery walks to the Lake Worth Art League Gallery and Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery.

Mushroom Bruschetta at South Shores Tavern in Downtown Lake Worth, Florida was a food delight on the Taste History Culinary Tour. Brushetta is a Tuscan cuisine that is correctly pronounced in Italian as [bru'sket:ta] or BROO-SKET-TA which is from the Italian word bruscare which means to toast. Portobello mushrooms are used in the South Shores Tavern version of the tasty Tuscan appetizer. The Portobello mushroom is considered the "Paris Mushroom" because in 1707 French botanist Joseph Pitton de Tournefort is considered the first to document the commercial cultivation of the edible mushroom. Some had described the King of France Louis XIV as the first mushroom grower. Although France is considered the leader in the formal cultivation of mushrooms, the growth of this edible fungi appeared in hieroglyphics 4,600 years ago in Egypt in the Continent of Africa.
