On Saturday, June 21, 2014, the Taste History Culinary Tour hosted a cultural culinary trip with food tastings in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. The newest addition to this epicurean tour that was visited on this day is Shaffer's Tea Room located in The Rectory which is a historic building from year 1903 that served as the parsonage for the minister and his family for the First Methodist Episcopal Church South in Delray Beach from 1903 to 1928. The First Methodist Episcopal Church South's name was changed to Cason United Methodist Church in honor of Rev. Dr. John Cason who pastored at the church following the devastating hurricane of 1928. The church was established in 1903 by early settlers to Delray Beach. The Tearoom serves over 85 fairtrade teas and coffee, serves the only pure water on earth GOODWATER® and uses it in every drink they serve. Shaffer's Tea Room donates a portion of all of their proceeds to people all around the globe. Shaffer's has a full menu of amazing food and desserts baked by locals.
Shaffer's Tea Room is located in The Rectory built in 1903 and specializes in organic teas and locally made cuisines. The Taste History Culinary Tour was hosted for tasting of their organic ice tea and pastries. Representatives from Discover The Palm Beaches (Palm Beach County's Tourism Bureau) were hosted on the Taste History Culinary Tour too.

The other culinary enterprise featured on the tour was Spot Coffee which is also located in a historic building. Specializing is craft roasted coffee, Spot Coffee's home is in the Masonic Lodge Building from year 1924. The architecture is Mission Revival. The Masonic Lodge Building served as the home for the Delray Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons. Also, from the 1920s to 1950s the local Post Office operated from the historic Masonic Lodge Building.

The other art, culinary and history featured in the tour experience included Cabana El Rey, Dee Dee's Conch & Rib Shack, Le Macaron French Pastries Shop, Scuola Vecchia Pizza e Vino, the Colony Hotel, The Little House, the City of Boynton Beach Avenue of Arts and Palermo's Bakery.

Therefore, the tours are held at 11am year-round on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of each month, plus private group tours are offered. The Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida program is offered on the third and fourth Saturdays of each month. And, Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana program is held on the second Saturday of each month, year-round, effective April 14, 2012.

The non-profit Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Palm Beach County includes family owned and locally operated eateries, markets and urban farms in historic Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth and Lantana plus exclusive discounts at Macy’s are provided specifically for the guests on the Taste History Culinary Tour. The Taste History Culinary Tours are the first food tours of its style in Palm Beach County and are conducted by the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) which is a non-profit 501c3 organization. These food tours include a live guide and are at least 4-hours with a combination of bus riding and 4 to 6 blocks of walking tour with visits to at least 3 to 4 restaurants/eateries/cultural sites for cuisine tastings along with alternating trips to historic districts, buildings and art galleries. There are now more 30 restaurant/food partners for the culinary tour that are visited on a rotating alternate schedule which means different eateries are visited each tour. Private group tours are also available.
The culinary tours are small-format with the average capacity for the tours being 15 to 20 people. The tour cannot accommodate dietary restrictions and dietary substitutions cannot be provided.
