Buena Vida Country Club hosted on epicurean tour of Delray Beach-Boynton Beach, French Pastry Shop added to tour

The Buena Vida Country Club jump started the month of March 2013 with a private Taste History Culinary Tour hosted for them that traveled to historic Delray Beach and Boynton Beach for food tastings, history learning and art viewing.

The March 6th culinary excursion made a premiere visit to the newly opened French pastry shop Le Macaron which specializes in the macaron pastry and gelato.  Le Macaron is located in the heart of Downtown Delray Beach, Florida.

The macaron pastry was a wonderful treat for the tour guests.  The origin of the macaron is historically mixed.  The macaron is a meringue confection filled with ganache (cream).  An Italian pastry chef named Gasparini is credited with creating (or improving) the meringue in 1723 in Meiringen, Switzerland.  Other gastronome historians claim that the macaron was introduced by Catherine de' Medici's Italian pastry chef in year 1533 when de' Medici married King Henry II of France.
